Quick set-up

Up and burning, no tools

The table ships as a frame, a burner and a top. Set the frame, seat the tank, drop in the burner and pour the fire glass.

Troubleshooting
Propane tank won't fill

Usually the tank wasn't purged — have an authorized propane station re-purge it. If it was filled too quickly the OPD float valve may close: with the burner removed, attach the regulator and briefly open the control valve to reset it.

Smelling propane

Check the set screw on the side of the valve assembly and tighten it with a flat-blade screwdriver. An overfilled tank can also vent — a full tank should weigh under 40 lbs (less than 4 gallons). Turn off the gas and call support if the smell continues.

Maintenance & safety
Granite table maintenance

Granite is a dense, coarse-grained stone and one of the hardest materials on earth. Its luster, hardness, colors and variations come from the stone's mineral composition and origin. Most granite has pits or fissures that are inherent to the stone and part of its natural texture; they can't be removed during fabrication.

General facts about granite

  • A properly sealed and maintained granite top can only be scratched by another piece of granite or a diamond.
  • The granite top is completely heat resistant and can withstand temperatures upwards of 1,800°F.
  • To prevent staining and scratches, use a granite sealer as the manufacturer recommends, and wipe up spills immediately. Wet granite may appear darker.

Maintaining the granite

  • When your table arrives, seal it with a granite sealer from your local hardware store. Reseal at the beginning and end of each season (twice a year).
  • Use mild soap and water or a professional natural stone cleaner for daily cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Savanna Stone and Tuscan Stone maintenance

The stone top gets the look of real stone from natural iron oxides and a quartz concrete overlay. Each table is hand stained with water-based iron oxide colorants, not solid paints, so the finish looks natural.

  • Color and texture vary from table to table because the stain is translucent and each top is hand troweled. The tone is the same but the exact shade may vary, and we can't guarantee a match to an existing table or sample.
  • Do not place anything made of a rubber compound on the table; it can permanently mark the surface.
  • Place a tray under potted plants. Oxides and minerals in pots and soil can discolor the top.
  • For complete protection, use the full table cover (sold separately).

Maintaining the stone

  • Seal the top with a stone sealer from your local hardware store when it arrives, then at the beginning and end of each season.
  • Wipe the top regularly with a damp cloth and wipe up spills immediately.
  • Use Simple Green or a natural citrus cleaner and a sponge for difficult areas.
  • Use Dawn dishwashing liquid and water for grease or oil spots.
  • Use a Magic Eraser for small, hard-to-clean areas.
Hammered copper maintenance

Our hammered copper tops are made from 18 gauge copper sheet that is shaped and hammered, given a dark acid-etched finish, and formed onto an outdoor substrate. A special finish is applied to maintain the patina.

Maintaining the copper

  • Seal the top right away with a carnauba wax from your local hardware store, and again at the beginning and end of each season.
  • Wipe the top regularly with water or mild soapy water and a soft cloth.
  • Do not use vinegar, acidic or abrasive cleaners, or furniture polish.
Safety: warning and propane installation

Warning: failure to follow these instructions may result in an explosion or fire that may cause property damage, personal injury or death. Read the instructions provided thoroughly before installing and operating your Oriflamme Fire Table. Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can cause property damage, personal injury or death.

  • Install the table in accordance with local codes and ordinances or, where there are none, the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54) or the International Fuel Gas Code.
  • Propane inlet gas supply pressure is 11.0 to 13.0 inches water column. Maximum input rate is 75,000 BTU.
  • For outdoor use only. Install at least 60 inches from the center of the burner to any combustible wall or material.
  • After connecting the gas line, a small amount of air will be in the line. When first lighting the burner it will take a few seconds to purge the air before the burner lights and operates as described in the instruction manual.
Safety: propane operation and care

The Oriflamme Fire Table is an attended appliance. An adult must be present whenever it is burning. Never leave it burning unattended.

  • Alert adults and supervise children in the area, and take the same precautions as with any open flame or hot surface.
  • Do not use the table if any part has been under water. Call a qualified service technician to inspect it and replace any part of the control system or gas control that has been submerged.
  • Use only outdoors in a well-ventilated area.
  • Keep the area clear of combustible materials, gasoline, lighters and other flammable vapors and liquids.
  • Not for use with solid fuel.
  • Replace a damaged burner with an approved Oriflamme burner before using the table.
  • When not in use, turn the control valve off: rotate right to turn off, left to turn on.

Proper maintenance

  • Inspect the valve connections, port and regulator assembly for damage and remove any debris.
  • Inspect the propane fuel supply connection before every use, and check that the tank valve has the correct external mating threads.
  • Keep the control valve, burner, venturi and circulating air passageways clean and free of debris.
  • Replace the hose if it is excessively worn or cut. Replacement hose, regulator and tank must be those specified for your table.
Safety: natural gas installation

Caution: natural gas installations, other modifications and repairs must be done by a qualified professional installer.

  • Natural gas inlet pressure: minimum 7 inches water column, maximum 10.5 inches water column. Maximum input rate is 80,000 BTU/hr. Do not use if the gas pressure is lower than the minimum or higher than the maximum.
  • Size the gas piping to provide the minimum inlet pressure at the maximum flow rate. Pipe that is too small or a run that is too long causes undue pressure loss.
  • Disconnect the table and its shutoff valve from the gas supply during any pressure test above 1/2 psi. For tests at or below 1/2 psi, isolate the table by closing its individual manual shutoff valve.
  • At elevations above 2,000 ft, contact your local dealer or gas supplier before installing. The input rating should be reduced about 4% for each 1,000 ft above sea level; contact the factory for the required orifice.
  • Use only joint compounds that resist all gases on male pipe fittings and tighten every joint securely. Do not use pipe joint compound on flare fittings.
  • An external on/off valve in the gas line is required for safety when the table is not in use, and makes maintenance and repair easier.
What to do if you smell gas

If you smell gas:

  • Do not try to light any appliance.
  • Do not touch any electrical switch and do not use any phone in your building.
  • Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's phone and follow the supplier's instructions.
  • If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.
Shipping and tracking

Oriflamme uses a variety of shipping companies across the United States to get your order to you on time. Your fire table may arrive in several packages on different carriers, so you may receive more than one tracking number. Check your sales receipt for the carrier on each shipment, then enter the tracking or PRO number on that carrier's website or call them.

Inspect your delivery. Accepting damaged freight, or signing the freight bill without noting the damage with the driver at delivery, means you have signed off on the freight and are responsible for any charges that follow. Check your items before the carrier leaves. All items shipped by truck are noted on the freight bill.

Frequently asked
Does wind affect the flame?

Wind doesn't affect the flame itself, and the fire glass is unlikely to blow out — but don't use the table in wind strong enough to put the flame out.

Will the table be affected by weather?

Metal parts are powder coated, stone tops have a protective overlay, and sealed granite isn't affected by weather.

How long does the burner last?

Made of thick aluminum and stainless steel, the burner doesn't corrode like a grill burner — it should last as long as the table.

Is it safe on a wood deck?

Yes. It uses gas-grill-grade, UL-listed components with three back-draft valves, produces no embers, and a quick disconnect shuts off the flame if the top is tipped.

How long does a propane tank last?

Typically 10–15 hours per standard 20 lb tank, depending on flame height and conditions.

Can I assemble it myself?

Yes — no tools are needed and assembly is quick.

Can it run on natural gas?

Yes, with the natural gas conversion kit.

Is it portable?

Yes. The frame, burner and top separate for moving; the frame is about 50 lbs and the burner about 25 lbs.

How long is the lead time on a custom table?

Generally 2–4 weeks, depending on demand.

Is the table under warranty?

Yes — see Warranty & claims for coverage by component.
